Show Season 2007 is underway 

We have photos from the Madison show,  the Batavia show and the Green Bay show (thanks Lois!).  Coming up soon are the Illowa show and, in case you just flew in from Mars and hadn't heard yet, our own Spring Show / MAOC meeting!

Speaking of which, Lois announces that the reduced registration fee for the MAOC conferences and lectures is extended through the end of March.  If you have the original version of the registration form, where it says March 1, now read April 1.  No foolin' :)))

Lois announces that if you mention the AOS Forum or Slippertalk or Orchid Guide Digest and you register on or before April 15, she will accept the reduced registration fee for the MAOC conferences and lecturers AND the caterer will accept food orders for the banquet through that date too.  Uhh, Lois, if we tell everyone what to mention for the reduced rate and we tell them that here on the Announcements page, how will we know if they ever saw that offer on any of those forums? And another thing ... since the 15th is a Sunday, can't we extend the deadline to the 17th like the IRS did? 

Leo has put together the Speaker Schedule (rev. 3/11/07) and it should convince you that full registration is well worth the time and money.  So take advantage of Lois' extension and sign up today.

Our own Bill Rogerson has been invited to address the 19th World Orchid Congress in 2008.  Bill will be reprising his excellent lecture on Cattleyas.

Among my pet peeves are those colorful plastic clips used to attach inflorescences to stakes.  I'm sure you've seen them.  They're shaped like insects, usually tiny dragonflies or honeybees.  And because of their color and size, they distract the eye and compete with the flowers for attention. To keep my blood pressure nicely elevated, Lois sent me the following photo taken at the Green Bay show.  Thanks, kiddo.  :))

Equal time will be provided anyone who thinks these things are just what's needed to bring interest and excitement to a bunch of dreary ol' orchids.
