Membership Information

The membership year is the calendar year.  Those who join the society at or after the Fall Show are paid up through the following year.   Annual dues are $25 per household.

To join, print the application form and mail it to our membership director,  , with your check for dues.  Felicia will send you a membership kit faster than you can say "Sophrolaeliocattleya!"

General membership is open to all individuals with an interest in cultivating orchids, whether beginners or experienced growers.   Commercial membership is open to nurseries and other business organizations.   Honorary life membership is granted by the Board of Directors to worthy individuals ... currently Dorathy Kuper is a life member of the IOS.   Reciprocal memberships are exchanged by the membership director or newsletter editor with designated representatives of other orchid societies.

All orchid people are welcome to become members of the society.  But as with any such organization, active, participating members are celebrated!

Privacy Note:  We restrict circulation of our Membership Directory to ourselves.  But as a member participating in Society activities such as the annual growing contest or as an exhibitor or volunteer worker at our shows, your name (and possibly photograph) are likely to appear at some point in our Newsletter or Website or both.  Ours is a gregarious social organization not a secret society and privacy expectations must be consistent with that character.
