Tom Mirenda, Orchid Collection Specialist at the Smithsonian Institution, will talk about orchids and the Smithsonian’s collection at 5
pm on Saturday and at 2 pm on Sunday. Free admission, in the auditorium.
Have your photograph taken with
Miss Illinois starting at 1
pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Children paint flower pots (*), color pictures of orchids, and participate
in other fun activities, ongoing throughout the show.
Learn how to repot an orchid. Attend the repotting workshops at 1 pm and 4
pm on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. You will get your own orchid, learn how to trim roots, and learn how to repot . All supplies provided .

Learn how to make a lei and corsage at workshops on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Decorate your hair with an orchid. Learn how to do the hula. Watch a demonstration and practice the hula moves yourself.

Help support the Illinois Orchid Society by bidding on unusual gifts in the Silent Auction.
Help support orchid conservation and orchid education by purchasing raffle tickets. Win a beautiful orchid or orchid art!

Repotting Service
Did you buy an orchid at the Spring Show last
year? Well, it needs to be repotted to keep it healthy. Bring your orchids
in for expert repotting by our volunteer society members. A $5 donation per
plant gets you a pot full of our special fresh mix and all the conversation
you might want with our volunteer experts while they work on your plants!

for Purchase at the Show (Besides orchids!)
Cut flowers, cultural books, hobby bags of our special IOS potting mix,
raffle tickets, and best of all, society memberships.
